Can One Big Idea Transform Africa?

One in four Africans - 228 million people - lack adequate nutrition, limiting their intellectual and physical potential. Over 60 percent of young people are unemployed. Africa has made less progress against poverty than other regions. African agricultural scientists - like Dr. Akin Adesina, head of the African Development Bank and former agriculture minister of Nigeria - believe an agrarian revolution can change all that. A high-level conference in Dakar, hosted by Senegal s government, aims to hammer out a bold plan for decisive action.

'Action Plan for African Agricultural Transformation' will take place on 21-23 October 2015 in Dakar, with participation of more than 500 particpants, including ministers of economy, finance and agriculture; Central Bank governors and pepresentatives of regional & international organizations, civil society groups and the private sector.
