2016 Full of Beans, Says UN

Pulses, including all kinds of dried beans and peas, are a cheap, delicious and highly nutritious source of protein and vital micronutrients that can greatly benefit people's health and livelihoods, says the FAO at the launch of the International Year of Pulses.

Fava beans are widely grown in Ethiopia, and are often ground and boiled to make a stew called shiro wat - a staple of the Ethiopian diet.
