New Peace Deal for South Sudan

The government of President Salva Kiir reached an agreement with rebel leader Riek Machar on the structure of a transitional government. One of the mediators, South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, said that "we can truly say that indeed the conflict that engulfed the Sudanese Peoples Liberation Movement has today come to an end and the guns of war have now been silenced."
