Catholic Church Apologises for Role in Rwanda Genocide

In a joint statement, nine bishops representing all dioceses have acknowledged that Catholic members planned, aided, and executed the genocide, in which more than 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed by Hutu hardliners in 1994.

The Catholic Church has apologised for the role played by some of its members in 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
