Former Top Obama Africa Aide Presses U.S. Focus on #GhanaDecides

With a close contest predicted for the presidential election on December 7 in Ghana, former top U.S. Africa policynaker Ambassador Johnnie Carson outlines how President Obama should weigh in to contribute to a peaceful outcome. "Barrack Obama applauded Ghana's extraordinary democratic progress and political maturity when he made that country his first stop in Africa after becoming President," Carson says in an AllAfrica guest column. "As he prepares to leave office," Carson says, Obama "should speak out in  favor of a free, fair and peaceful process."
