According to The Standard, the nation faces a state of "siege" as civil servants prepare to embark on what Public Service and Social Welfare Minister Prisca Mupfumira has described as an "illegal" strike over the government's failure to dispense bonuses in November 2016. This follows divisive comments made by First Lady Grace Mugabe who stated that Zimbabweans would vote for President Robert Mugabe's corpse.
