'White Rhodesians' Own 90% of Zimbabwe's Masvingo - Report

The city of Masvingo's council has blamed the lack of infrastructural development on white ownership of commercial buildings. The owners, who live outside the country, are reportedly only receiving rentals from tenants without refurbishing the buildings. Masvingo, then known as Fort Victoria in the 1800s was one of the first white settlements established by the Pioneer Column as a link between Salisbury, now Harare, and South Africa.
