South African Fossil Find Reveals New Secrets

Wits paleoanthropologist Professor Lee Berger said that the age of the Homo naledi was "startlingly young" and that it is likely the species lived alongside Homo sapiens.

Researchers and scientists had previously thought that only Homo sapiens existed on the African continent during the ate Middle Pleistocene period because the it was characterised by the rise of "modern human behaviour" (file photo).
