Are All Signs Pointing to Violent Polls in Kenya?

As countries around the world sit and observe the turn of events leading to the much-awaited August elections, the U.S. has issued a travel alert warning Americans of possible violence in the run-up to the polls. Earlier this year, the National Democratic Institute deployed a delegation of regional and election experts from Africa, Europe and North America to assess preparations and support the country's efforts to conduct credible, peaceful polls. According to African Arguments, the shift in the political landscape may bring violence or just confusion. President Uhuru Kenyatta has, however, vowed to ensure peace, despite his rival Raila Odinga's claims that the ruling party is working with the army to rig the elections.
