#NoConfidence: Zuma Defends ANC, Opposition Says He is Wounded

Repeated attempts to remove the ruling African National Congress would never succeed, President Jacob Zuma told supporters following an unsuccessful vote of no confidence in him in Parliament - but  Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane said Zuma had nothing to celebrate. While 198 MPs voted against the no-confidence motion, 177 MPs voted in favour and 9 abstained. Around 30 ANC MPs are believed to have voted against the party line.
