Ugandan VP to Chair Committee on Land Law Changes

The ruling National Resistance Movement's parliamentary caucus has resolved to set up a committee to advise on land law changes. This follows a reportedly heated meeting between the caucus and President Yoweri Museveni about a controversial plan to amend the Constitution so that the state can take compulsory possession of private land without being bogged down by compensation disputes.
