South Africans Pitch in to Help #LionMama Who Defended Daughter

The arrest of an Eastern Cape mother who faces charges of stabbing a man to death and injuring two others after they allegedly raped her 27-year-old daughter has prompted an outcry on social media. Cape Town resident Natalie Kendrick started a crowdfuinding campaign to assist the "#lionmama" (or "mother lioness") with legal and counselling fees.
