Time Limit on Sex Crimes Cases to Be Heard in South African Court

The Constitutional Court will hear an application to confirm a decision taken by the Gauteng High Court  which invalidated legislation that set a time limit of 20 years on the prosecution of most sexual offences. The time limit does not apply to rape, robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder, kidnapping and possession of child pornography.
