SADC to Meet as World Watches Situation in Zimbabwe

South African president Jacob Zuma, in his capacity as Southern African Development Community chairperson, has called an urgent meeting to discuss the unfolding situation in Zimbabwe. Zuma sent envoys to the country after the Zimbabwean Defence Force put President Robert Mugabe under military guard, seized control of the state broadcaster and arrested senior officials.
