Tension Rises Around Funeral and Burial of Zimbabwe's Tsvangirai

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has assured the family of MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai that the government will fulfil pledges made to the politician. "He gave me a list of things he wanted addressed and I gave him my word that the issues would be addressed," said President Mnangagwa on a visit to Tsvangirai's Harare residence. MDC-T vice president Nelson Chamisa and Tsvangirai's wife Elizabeth  Macheka attended  the event despite threats by Tsvangirai's mother that she would commit suicide if the two were allowed near the funeral.
