Water Restrictions Stay Put for Mozambique's Capital

Mozambique authorities have introduced water restrictions to Maputo residents due to a severe drought. About 1.3 million people in Maputo and its surroundings are affected, raising the risk of disease outbreaks. Southern Africa has experienced a severe drought in recent years, with Cape Town in neighbouring South Africa facing the prospect of having its taps turned off in July.
