South African Seaside Town Promises Land to Protesters

Land will be made available for "backyarders", Western Cape Human Settlements MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela has promised protesting residents in the seaside town of Hermanus. This comes after police arrested at least 25 protesters and fired teargas and rubber bullets when people marked out plots on vacant land belonging to the Overstrand municipality.
