Violent Gangs Cause Mayhem as Kenyan Police 'Sleep'

Many of the gangs are reportedly funded by politicians, their relatives, businessmen and government officials and were deployed during the election period in 2017. Residents have said they have been forced to form their own security teams to protect themselves, as they cannot fully rely on the police who work with the gangs.
