Did President Buhari Okay U.S.$1 Billion for Arms Purchases?

The Nigeria presidency has denied reports that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the purchase of weapons and other equipment, contradicting the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, who told State House reporters after Buhari met with security chiefs, that the president had approved the release of the funds from the excess crude account, for military equipment purchases to fight insecurity.
