Anti-Govt Protests Loom as Tanzania Marks 54th Union Day
Union Day celebrations will go ahead, despite a possible disruption by anti-government protests today. This is the 54th anniversary of the merger between the former Tanganyika and Zanzibar republics in 1964 and this year's celebrations will be presided over by members of the East African Legislative Assembly.
