The South African Cabinet has decided to take all powers away from the provincial government in North West and to strip the powers of municipalities run by allies of embattled ANC North West Chairman Supra Mahumapelo. This comes after Mahumapelo refused to step down despite protests and took a leave of absence without presidential approval.
