High Court Lifts Asset Freeze on Gupta-Linked Companies

The Bloemfontein High Court has ruled in favour of the companies - lifting a freeze on U.S.19.8 Million in assets. Judge Phillip Loubser said there are no reasonable grounds that the companies and individuals received gifts from Estina Dairy Project. Those arrested were Estina director Kamal Vasram, former directors at the Guptas' holding company Oakbay - Varun Gupta, Ronica Ragavan, Nazeem Howa and Ashu Chawla - and Free State officials Peter Thabethe, Sylvia Dlamini, and Takisi Masiteng.
