Nigerian Police Order Audit of Detention Cells
The audit will enable the National Human Rights Commission to oversee the situation of detainees as well as undertake a general audit of the state of police detention facilities in the country. The announcement comes amid renewed outrage on social media following allegations of extortion, violence and arbitrary detention by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
