A resort currently under construction in Liberia shows off its room to American investors

    The model room of the RLJ Kendeja Resort & Villas at a showing in Bethesda, Maryland on July 28. The hotel, built by the American entertainment and hospitality conglomerate Robert L. Johnson Companies, will be the first luxury resort ever in Liberia.

    Along with top of the line electronics, indigenous Liberian masks and cloths will be used to furnish the rooms.

    A bathroom from the model room. Since plumbing is unreliable in Liberia, the resort will pump and filter water from its own wells.

    A lamp fixture from the model room. The resort will generate all its own electricity to create a "self-sustaining island" virtually independent of the unreliable Liberian infrastructure.
