FAMILY VISION AFRICA TO SET UP EDUCATION COMPLEX AT BREMAN ESSIAM
Family Vision Africa, an Accra based NGO, is to establish a multi-purpose educational complex at Breman Essiam in the Ejumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region to provide training opportunities for the under privileged.
The programme for the model community complex was launched at a recent charity event; Total Emancipation 2010 the African Child in perspective; held at the Novotel Hotel in Accra.
The Minister for Women and Childrens Affairs Hon. Juliana Azumah-Mensah opened the ceremony which was chaired by the Executive Director (Business Development) of Databank, Mr. Yofi Grant.
The facility to be established in phases on a 20-acre land provided by the Breman Essiam Traditional Council will have classroom blocks, libraries and laboratory, boarding facility, sick bay, sports complex/fitness centre, art centre / museum, chapel and housing facility for foreign and local volunteers among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Azumah-Mensah commended Family Vision Africa for initiating the programme to provide educational opportunities for the Ghanaian child saying the Government was committed to such wonderful initiatives and pledged governments support.
Hon. Azumah-Mensah, who also represented H.E. John Mahama, Vice President at the function, further called on religious groups, corporate bodies, civil society and organisations to support saying, investing in children forms part of the development agenda of the government in ensuring a peaceful and stable country.
The Executive Director of Family Vision Africa, Prince Williams Oduro in a welcome address said the project which is supported by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Odeefo Afankwa III, Omanhen and President of Breman Essiam Traditional Council, will when completed, provide a platform for the under-privileged, a result-oriented and science-based education accessible to the less-privileged.
He said Family Vision Africa remains committed to improving the lives of children living in disadvantaged communities in Ghana in the areas of education and health.
The Executive Chairman of RICS Consult Limited, Mr. Magnus Rex Danquah, noted with appreciation Family Vision Africas total commitment of providing educational opportunities for African Children, especially the under-privileged on the streets and in the rural communities.
He noted that the organisation established in 2007 has worked in many fields from capacity building, providing financial and technical assistance to innovative programmes and strategies to create opportunities for the empowerment of women to sustain their livelihood.
Mr. Danquah who is also the Founder and President of Ethel-Jane Sports Business School, Africas premier sports business tertiary institution said society has always been built on dreamers and called on like-minded individuals to support the Family Vision Africa initiative to lay a good foundation for the less fortunate children to develop.
