L'AAFEX a été créée à Paris en octobre 2002 lors du SIAL (Salon International de l'Alimentation), en assemblée constitutive. Elle est née de la volonté d'exportateurs africains des secteurs agricoles et agroalimentaire à s'allier pour conquérir les marchés du monde. L'AAFEX : Un groupement d'entreprises africaines exportatrices de produits alimentaires animé par des entrepreneurs volontaires.
