The HIV/AIDS epidemic has already claimed over 20 million lives and another 38 million people are currently estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS worldwide. HIV/AIDS cases have been reported in all regions of the world, but most people living with HIV/AIDS (96%) reside in low-and middle-income countries, where most new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths occur.
