Besigye Walks to Court

The Kasangati magistrates' court has this evening ruled that court cannot issue an order stopping police deployment at the residence of FDC president Dr. Kizza Besigye. Presiding over the case, grade one magistrates Jesica Chemeri however observed that if indeed the police had stopped Besigye from getting out of his house, then it was a violation of the constitution. She further noted said the fact that Besigye had walked freely to attend the court proceedings meant he was no longer being detained.
