Kenya: Electoral Body Wants Special Police Unit

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is now looking to equip itself with policemen, investigators and lawyers who will now be mandated to arrest and prosecute electoral offenders on the spot thanks to the elections act. Those who will be involved in such electoral offences as double registration, rigging, voter's card forgery and sale of voters cards will now not escape the noose of the electoral commission that hopes to now work from within to reduce such malpractices for the sake of integrity, transparency and accountability.
