Justice Erastus Githinji has been elected the acting President of the Court of Appeal, replacing Riaga Omollo who was among four judges sent home last week by the Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board. Announcing the development, Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga also said that the four judges' positions will not be declared vacant, until they exhaust the window for review of their cases. And while the Vetting Board now concentrates on High Court judges, Lady Justice Martha Koome will become the first judge to go through a public vetting exercise, following her own request. Koome's vetting will be conducted by the vetting board on Wednesday. Hussein Mohamed reports.
