The high court in Nakuru has issued an order suspending the appointment of Mumo Matemu to head the ethics and anti-corruption commission, pending the hearing and determination of a suit filed by a lobby group. Mumo's appointment to chair the anti-graft agency was only approved by parliament and gazetted by President Mwai Kibaki last week, but the lobby group says the appointment was illegal and unconstitutional. He was appointed alongside Professor Jane Onsongo and Irene Keino as members, but as Judy Kosgei reports, the stalled war on grand corruption, appears to have awoken to another stuttering start.
