Chaos erupted in downtown Kampala this afternoon after the Forum for Democratic Change leader - Dr. Kizza Besigye and a number of prominent opposition members toured Nakasero Market to have lunch and later on attempted to address a crowd that had gathered. The police called off the rally prompting the locals to turn rowdy leading to the police firing tear-gas to disperse the enraged traders and opposition supporters. The police say over six officers were injured in the fracas and have warned the opposition members to desist from performing acts which they called unlawful.
