Kenya: Two Charged in University Student Murder

Duncan Kimathi, a USIU student, and his girlfriend, Winnie Kariuki, were charged in a Makadara court with kidnapping, defilement and being armed with a dangerous weapon. The two have been accused of kidnapping and robbing Melissa Ouko of her phone and other valuables outside the gates of United States International University. This is a second charge for the two after they appeared in court yesterday on suspected murder charges. They are accused of murdering Sarah Aruwa a USIU student, after kidnapping her and demanding ransom. The two appeared before Senior principal magistrate T. Okello. Duncan and Winnie will appear in court at 2 pm for a ruling to see if there will be released on bond.
