Focus has now shifted from the International Criminal Court to Kenya's national institutions to determine whether presidential aspirants Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto should vie for the presidency, as debate continues on their eligibility to run.

A pending court case expected to be determined later this month is expected to put the debate to an end. In the meantime, the IEBC says that it will only accept nomination papers from persons cleared by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission.
