The expulsion of El Shabaab from the Somali capital is leading to a revival of Mogadishu. Buildings and shops are springing up, and hundreds of Somalis from the diaspora are returning to the city every week. One of them is Nur Farah who had fled to the Netherlands. The contractor says everything in the Netherlands is complete, but Mogadishu offers exciting possibilities and he wants to be part of the reconstruction effort. And he even has time to savour the small pleasures of life, like ice cream and a stroll on the beach.
