Kenya: Polls Body Guarantees No Delays in Elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) has moved to allay fears of a delayed general election, as a result of the incomplete process of awarding a tender to the company that will provide the software to be used to register voters electronically. IEBC chairman Ahmed Issack Hassan said the voter registration exercise will kick off next month as scheduled. Hassan however says the IEBC has an alternative plan should the tendering process of the biometric voter registration kits be derailed.
