Kenyan Teachers Plan to Strike

The Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) has supported the Kenya National Union of Teachers on the planned strike set for 3rd September 2012. Addressing journalists after officially opening a workshop organized by the International Labour Organization in Nairobi, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli however called on the government to engage the teachers in negotiations to avoid inconveniencing students as schools re- open in September.
