Eight people were arraigned in court Monday afternoon over the Tana River clashes that claimed the lives of over 50 people on Wednesday last week. The 8, who include 3 area chiefs faced charges of murder, incitement, violence and disobedience. This, even as President Mwai Kibaki cautioned those intent on dividing Kenya along tribal lines. Close to 2,000 residents continue to brave the swampy environment under temporary shelters after they were displaced by the recent attacks as Evelyn Wambui reports.
