Kenya: Doctors' Strike Paralyses Hospital Operations

As the strike by 400 doctors from the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi and the Mathare Mental Hospital enters day 2, the impact of the 21 day strike can only be described by patients who visit the medical facilities only to go back or held for hours without being attended to. According to Kenyatta National Hospital chief executive all consultants and medical specialist have been recalled but operations in some of the crucial clinics have been scaled down.
