The country's public education system is facing an imminent shutdown next week after the umbrella teachers' union- KNUT and the University Lecturers' Association - UASU insisted they would go on strike next unless the government honours its agreement to improve their members' pay packages. The two unions say their members will stay away from classrooms effective when schools resume for third term.
