Mogadishu, Somalia's capital, had long been admired for its rich culture and architecture. But after decades of conflict that devastated much of the country, all that is left of the country's past is stored in national archives.

Audio recordings of famous poetry, music, and political speeches make up a bulk of the remaining treasure trove of Somali history.

Al Jazeera's Nazanine Moshiri reports from Mogadishu.
