Kenya Court Arraigns Mombasa Terror Suspect

A case against terror suspect Sheikh Abubakar Ahmed is currently underway at the Mombasa law courts. The Muslim Cleric, popularly known as 'Makaburi' and who was an ally to the late Sheikh Aboud Rogo is appearing before Senior ResidentMmagistrate Elvis Michieka facing charges of incitement. The case against the Sheikh will determine if he will be released on bond. Sheikh Abubakar, on his part is complaining of mistreatment while in custody claiming he was denied food as well as an opportunity to see his family members. Still in court, 24 suspects charged last week with engaging in an unlawful assembly have been released on a ksh 50,000 bond each with a surety of the same. The case against the 24, said to be behind last week's violence in Mombasa will be heard again on the 9th of October.
