Kenya: Soaring Food Prices Hit Nairobi Slums

According to the latest global survey by the United Nations, the price of meat, dairy products and some cereals rose last month. The survey also found that an estimated third of Kenyans living in urban areas are chronically malnourished. With Africa's slums growing at a rate exponentially faster than most countries, residents in these areas can not afford to buy the food needed to keep themselves healthy.
