When the violence first began in Tana River district exactly a month ago, it was recorded as a feud between pastoralists and farmers over pasture. But when the number of deaths, both human and livestock, increased with each day as did the number of villages torched as a result. That feud quickly degenerated into a massacre. But in between, trying to look for the causes and solutions, one group of people was forgotten, the children. Out of the over 40,000 displaced people, over half of them were children. Forced to stay away from school and accept such brutal realities. Evelyn Wambui brings us the story of 'the Tana River children' and helps us look at the tragedy, through their eyes.
