Conflicting Information Over Kenya Airways' Layoffs

The government today gave a contradictory statement over the consultations between the government and Kenya Airways Management on the retrenchment carried out by Kenya Airways. On the one hand Transport Minister Amos Kimunya says the process was above board as there were consultations between Kenya Airways and the Ministry of Labour, while on the other hand the Ministry of Labour which is set to release a report on the redundancy exercise says that the union has genuine grievances on how the retrenchments should have been carried out and denies having been consulted on the matter.
