Kenya Commission to Sue Over Pay Perks

The Constitution Implementation Commission has written to President Mwai Kibaki, urging him not to assent to the Finance bill passed discreetly on Thursday night by Members of Parliament, in which they awarded themselves hefty send-off perks. The MPs, through an amendment clause sneaked in by Wajir west MP Adan Keynan, awarded themselves 9.3 million shillings each as winding up allowances, a move that will cost the already over-burdened Kenyan taxpayer 2 billion shillings.
