Kenya: Suspended Deputy Chief Justice Appeal Hearing Postponed

The Supreme Court today adjourned the hearing of an appeal filed by suspended Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza challenging a ruling declaring her unfit to continue serving in the Judiciary following her lawyers absence in court today. The five-judge bench led by Chief Justice Willy Mutunga took issue with the absence of Barasa's lawyer Judith Guserwa who was reportedly out of the country and ordered her to personally pay the costs of today's proceedings.
