The electronic voter registration exercise will now kick off on November 12th and run for the next 30 days, but only if the 15,000 Biometric Voter Registration kits are delivered by the end of next week. IEBC Chairman Ahmed Issack Hassan has however warned that if the commission will not have received the kits by 5th November, it will be forced to resort to manual voter registration. This emerged as the government signed a 7.15 billion - shilling financing agreement with Standard Chartered Bank, to facilitate the supply of the BVR kits.
