In what is undoubtedly good news for both consumer and business borrowers, the Central Bank of Kenya has lowered its benchmark interest rate to 11 percent, bringing it to the lowest level it has been in more than a year. The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee, which met today, continues to be optimistic about the trends in the Kenyan economy.
