The police force now admits that the fatal attacks on security officers pursuing stolen livestock in Baragoi could have been as a result of tactical blunders.

Police spokesman Eric Kiraithe said it was wrong for the police officers to be deployed to pursue the raiders without the necessary protective gear, such as bullet proof jackets. As the country mourns the officers who were massacred in the line of duty, the Internal Security Ministry confessed that the National Police Service lacks sufficient personnel and equipment to combat crime in the country.
